Troop 950 helped the Mission Trails Regional Park
last Saturday October 31st (Halloween) with a little service project by painting the green railing at the entrance of the visitors center parking lot. The project went really fast... we are professionals... Wasted time is wasted! Get the job done and done right can be done fast and efficiently with the right tools and great supervision. Out SPL handled the logistics and the Scoutmasters and park personnel pitched in as well. Mrs. E took all the photos to document the good work then volunteered us to paint the entrance gates. getting two more service projects set up. Good Job Mrs. E.!

We are here to serve the community. If you have a community project you would like taken care of please contact us. Besides camping and having fun we are a "Boy Led Troop" with community service as on of our GOALS.

STREET FAIR SEPTEMBER 2005

The Street Fair was a  Success!  The troop made some money on the snow cones and bake goods while the kids had a great time eating snow cones and bake goods. .

Thanks to all who helped with the booths!  The Kiwanis Adults that helped deserve special thanks. Many thanks also go to the people that donated goods for the sale and the many scouts and parents who came and worked.  A lot of people helped us with this event this year and that's what made it a huge success. Especially the Lake Murray Kiwanis

who gave us the booth space.

Special Olympics Service Hours -

We Enjoy helping The Lake Murray Kiwanis Club with their support of the Special Olympics. The Kiwanis provide us with many satisfying Service Hours through out the year by helping serve meals, support participants by being a buddy at Special Olympic Games and just general work parties to get events set up and cleaned up.

Arbor Day at Mission Trails Regional Park -               December 2005

Arbor day has always been a good time for the scouts of Troop 950. We have planted native berry bushes, Oak trees, Sycamore trees, Cotton Wood trees, and spread wild native seed at the equestrian center. We even hauled mulch when there weren't many trees to plant. This is our park we will keep planting and mulching.

Kiwanis Children's Christmas Party

An annual event put on by our charter organization

Lake Murray Kiwanis Club

Everyone participated, watched and helped pick out presents

Kiwanis Children's
Our Charter, Lake Murray Kiwanis, have
been putting on a Christmas Party for
children at Patrick Henry High school for
many years. Troop 950 has had the
privilege to help serve the children
breakfast and escort them to see Santa
Clause after that they receive a photo
of them selves with Santa and choose
an unwrapped gift of their choice.
This is the best part watching the little kids
pick out the gift. There are always so many
toys to choose from that  it can be hard for
them. They all go away smiling and happy.
As Scouts we get service hours and we
know we did a good thing for everyone.
